The FTC (Florida Track Club) Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, big temp swing
Mild 50°F temps at gun time mean comfortable early miles without overheating risk. Temps will climb significantly to 67°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Half Marathon covers 13.1 miles as two out-and-back loops on the paved Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail in Hawthorne, Florida, east of Gainesville. Each loop heads out 3.27 miles from the Hawthorne trailhead and returns to it, with a tree canopy on both sides of the trail and only a few turns. The course is flat, fast and USATF-certified, and it starts and finishes at the same trailhead as the marathon on the Saturday of race weekend in January.
