Runners will face a steady temperature increase from 24°F at the start to 45°F by the finish. Winds will be light at 6 mph from the WSW, with occasional gusts up to 24 mph. Hydration may be less critical, but runners should consider layering for warmth early on and adjust gear as temperatures rise.

Race Info
These beautiful, challenging courses are run on dirt/jeep roads and narrow, hilly single track with fantastic views of Salida and the Arkansas Valley. Elevations range from 7000-9000 feet. Foot travel only. There is a 7 1/2 hour time limit for the marathon, and a 5 hour time limit for the half marathon. No crews or pacers on either course. Prizes will be awarded to the top three M/F in each race and top three F/M in each 10 year age group. A light hot meal will be available at the finish for contestants. All registered runners will receive custom race socks. There is a 500 person combined limit for the half marathon and full marathon (split mostly evenly between the two events). Source
