Philadelphia Trail Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, big temp swing
A cool 43°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 61°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.
Wissahickon Valley park is the crown jewel of the Philadelphia park system. It is over 2000 acres in size and features more than 50 miles of trails. The park combines natural beauty and history, with many historic buildings and bridges located within the park. Philadelphia trail runners have embraced the park for many years for their training runs, due to its natural beauty and extensive trail network, but there hasn't been a long distance trail race in recent memory. Let's celebrate Philadelphia trails by running the Philadelphia Trail (Half)Marathon at the Wissahickon Valley Park. Over 600 runners have registered for the race in the past 2 years, and we are expecting a large field for the return to Wissahickon Valley. We are looking forward seeing you at the starting line in April. Source
