New River Marathon
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, big temp swing
Mild 56°F temps at gun time mean comfortable early miles without overheating risk. Temps will climb significantly to 74°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 67% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The New River Marathon takes place each May in Todd, North Carolina, in the state's High Country near the Blue Ridge Mountains. The marathon course follows country roads along the New River for about 22.5 of its 26.2 miles, passing horse farms and Christmas tree farms with mountain views. USATF certifies both the marathon and half marathon courses. A companion half marathon and 5K run the same race weekend, with the 5K starting the evening before.
