Cool start — fast day potential, warming through the race, strong wind
A cool 42°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temperatures rising to 54°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Strong 22mph gusts could slow exposed stretches — tuck behind other runners when you can. Moderate humidity at 71% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The course highlights many landmarks in Cape Girardeau including the Bill Emerson Bridge, Common Pleas Courthouse, Dalhousie Golf Course, Old St. Vincent's Church and more, as well as finishing along the Missouri Wall of Fame Mural. The course is relatively flat utilizing roadways and paved trails. We hope you will spend the evening in Cape and celebrate your accomplishment. Proceeds benefit local non-profits who work to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in the region. Thanks to our sponsors and participants, we have been able to give over $70,000 to local non-profit's since the Muddy River Marathon's inception. In our fourth year we plan to continue expanding the beneficiaries around Southeast Missouri. Source
