Med Bow Rail Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, warming through the race, rain likely
Mild 58°F temps at gun time mean comfortable early miles without overheating risk. Temperatures rising to 69°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Rain is likely — waterproof your phone and bib, and consider a disposable poncho for the corral. Moderate humidity at 68% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Lake Owen trailhead in the Medicine Bow National Forest, at roughly 9,000 feet. Runners make one loop of Lake Owen on short stretches of singletrack, then head down the Medicine Bow Rail Trail to a turnaround at the Lincoln Gulch trailhead. After returning along the same packed gravel trail, they circle the lake a second time and finish on its northwest side. The route passes through three fire scars and stands of green timber, and the event takes place on the Saturday of race weekend.
