Race Info
Lima Marathon (Maratón de Lima, branded Lima 42K) is Peru's largest road race, held annually in May through the districts of Miraflores, Lince, and Lima's Historic Center. First run in 2009, it carries a World Athletics Elite Label, one of only two marathons in South America to hold that status. The 42.2K course is a two-loop route starting and finishing on Av. Larco in Miraflores, near the Malecón de la Reserva. The event is organized by Peru Runners under a title sponsorship that has rotated over the years (Movistar, Cereales Angel, and currently adidas and Rímac). The 2025 edition drew over 20,000 finishers across the marathon, half marathon, and 10K distances. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled due to COVID-19, and the race ran once off-cycle in September 2022 before returning to its usual May date.
