Hillbilly Hike Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cold start — layer up, big temp swing
Runners will start in chilly 39°F conditions — dress in layers for the corral and plan to shed early. Temps will climb significantly to 55°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Hillbilly Hike is a point-to-point half marathon and 10K, plus an out-and-back Greubel Memorial 5K, held each November on the Summerset Trail between Indianola and Carlisle, Iowa. The half marathon starts in Indianola and finishes in Carlisle on paved former rail trail with a gradual downhill grade. Thrive Church's Mission Team organizes the race, and proceeds from the 10K and half marathon fund the church's mission trips. The Greubel Memorial 5K, added in 2017, honors three children whose parents died that year, with proceeds going toward the children's scholarships.
