Starting at 69°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Temperatures rising to 80°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Moderate winds around 18mph may affect pacing on open sections of the course. Rain is likely — waterproof your phone and bib, and consider a disposable poncho for the corral. High humidity (85%) will make it harder to cool down through sweat — increase fluid intake accordingly.

Race Info
The Hawk Hundred 100 Mile is four laps of a 25-mile loop on the rolling, technical trails of Clinton State Park in Lawrence, Kansas. Each lap follows the blue, red and white blazed trails past the Lands End and West Park Road aid stations, along the red-blazed shoreline trail and across Cactus Ridge. Every lap also includes a grassy 2.5-mile loop over Bunker Hill that leaves the trails and follows West Park Road. It starts and finishes at Overlook Park on the Saturday of race weekend and carries on overnight.
