Race Info
The Harlon Block Half Marathon debuts in Weslaco, Texas on November 8, 2026, starting and finishing at Harlon Block Sports Complex. The race is named for Harlon Block, a Weslaco native and Marine who helped raise the flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945. Alongside the standard half marathon, runners can enter the Harlon Block Memorial Ruck, a weighted-pack division on the same course. Proceeds from both events go toward a permanent memorial statue for Block that broke ground in Weslaco in February 2026.
