Galloping Gertie 10K
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, warming through the race
Mild 60°F temps at gun time mean comfortable early miles without overheating risk. Temperatures rising to 73°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Galloping Gertie 10K starts and finishes at Tacoma Narrows Airport in Gig Harbor, Washington. The route runs mostly out and back across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, turning at the Tacoma end of the span, the same turnaround the half marathon uses. The bridge crossing looks out over Puget Sound toward Point Defiance, Vashon Island, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. The race takes its name from the original 1940 Narrows bridge, nicknamed Galloping Gertie.
