Race Info
The Ely Marathon starts on the North Arm of Burntside Lake at Camp Du Nord in Ely, Minnesota, and follows the Echo Trail toward Shagawa Lake, passing through Winton and around Miner's Lake before finishing at Whiteside Park in downtown Ely. It is the only marathon with a sanctioned canoe portage division, in which entrants carry a canoe overhead for part of the course. The race offers marathon, half marathon, and 5K distances and is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Source
