A cool 49°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 68°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. The Eastbound Half Marathon & 5K is a trail race held at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The half marathon covers two laps of the center's East Main singletrack trail, with more than 1,000 feet of elevation gain; the 5K runs a shorter section of the same course. The race was previously held under the name Wild Vine Half Marathon before being rebranded as Eastbound.
