Cool start, mild finish, crosswinds

Runners will face a temperature rise from 46°F at the start to 61°F by the end, with average humidity at 63%. Winds will be light, but crosswinds will create challenges from miles 1-7, 9-11, and 13-15, while a headwind will impact miles 8, 16, and 19. Runners should focus on pacing conservatively early and adjust hydration strategies as temperatures increase.

Race Info

The Dallas Marathon has started and finished in Downtown Dallas since 1971, when local runner Tal Morrison founded the race with a $25 ad in Runner's World. It was known as the Dallas White Rock Marathon until 2012 and added BMW as title sponsor in 2016. The course leaves Dallas City Hall Plaza, crosses the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge into the Design District, passes Highland Park, circles White Rock Lake, and returns through Lakewood and the Swiss Avenue Historic District to the downtown finish. It is a Boston Marathon qualifier and has run every December since 1976, missing only 2013 and 2020; race weekend also includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K and 50K ultramarathon. Wikipedia
