Race Info

The Capital City Marathon has run through Olympia, Washington since 1980, when it was founded by members of the Olympia Rainrunners Club a few years before the city hosted the first U.S. Women's Olympic Marathon Trials. The nonprofit Capital City Marathon Association still organizes the event, offering a Boston-qualifying marathon alongside a half marathon and five-mile race that start and finish near Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia. The certified course rolls through the city, surrounding countryside, and neighborhoods before a fast half-mile downhill finish.
