Race Info
Beat the Bridge is an annual 8K run, 3-mile walk, and 1-mile fun run in Seattle that raises funds for Breakthrough T1D, the type 1 diabetes research organization. The course starts on Montlake Boulevard and finishes on the field of Husky Stadium at the University of Washington. Around the two-mile mark, runners try to cross the University Bridge before it opens for boat traffic; anyone who doesn't beat the bridge waits about five minutes, with music playing, for it to lower again. The event has run annually for more than 40 years, reaching its 44th edition in May 2026.
