Race Info
The Bataan Memorial Death March is held each March at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, commemorating the 1942 Bataan Death March and the American and Filipino soldiers who endured it. Participants choose between a 26.4-mile full marathon route and a 15.6-mile Honorary March route, both crossing paved roads and desert sand trails. Entrants compete in civilian or military divisions, with military "heavy" categories requiring a rucksack of at least 35 pounds. The event is organized by the U.S. Army at White Sands Missile Range and regularly draws several thousand participants.
