2023 Carolina Reaper Marathon Weather Preview
/The Carolina Reaper marathon is going to be dangerously hot this year.
The carolina reaper is known for it’s heat, and so is the Carolina Reaper Marathon. Taking place in the heat of the day in Anderson, SC, this race also boasts a 50K, a half marathon and a 5 mile run.

This race starts at 10:30AM (50K at 9AM) which is just giving the sun more time to heat up an already hot state in July. With an air temp of 81º and a heat index of 86º at the start, you know you’re in for a scorcher. The high is expected to reach 89º with a feels like of 100º, which will make this one of the hottest Carolina Reaper Marathons on record.
With minimal cloud coverage and high humidity, it’s going to be super important to apply sunscreen and stay hydrated. The 2.62mi looped course helps ensure that there will be plenty of times to stop at the aid station. There will even be a community kitty pool with iced towels (they suggest bringing a bag of ice) to keep cool.
